Douglas Andrew Michael, 70, of Daybrook passed away Monday, April 26, 2021, at Mon Health Medical Center. He was born Feb. 12, 1951, in Fairmont a son of the late Wendell “Andy” Michael and Regina Henderson Michael.
Doug had been employed as a coal miner with Blacksville #1 mine. Doug loved being with and watching his grandchildren playing sports. He loved playing golf, playing cards and was an avid West Virginia University fan.
Doug is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Owens (Heath), of Core, and Kristina Evans (Jason), of Chambersburg, Pa.; one son, Steven Michael (Crystal), of Maidsville; one sister, Tessie Opyoke (Mike), of Daybrook; and grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Zachary, Lilly, Colby, Benny, Levi and Alexis; and his very close friend, Norma Henry, of Waynesburg, Pa.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Fred Eddy II officiating. Burial will follow at Daybrook Cemetery. Per CDC guidelines, masks must be worn, social distancing practiced and limit the visitation to 15 minutes.
