Michael “Mike” Ray King, 64, of Morgantown, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born on Dec. 31, 1956, in Morgantown, a son of the late Bernard Russel King and Betty G. (Nestor) King.
Mike grew up in Morgantown and worked in environmental service with West Virginia University. He was known by all as an outspoken fellow and jokester.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Merlene (Anderson) King; one daughter, Jamie Herron and husband Joshua; siblings, Gale Wilson and Bernard King Jr. and wife Linda; nieces, Misty and Lora; and nephew, John.
In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by a sister, Diane McVicker; niece, Carrie McVicker; and special friend, Terry Watson.
Friends and family will be received at Nicholson Chapel, Summer School Road, Morgantown, from 11 a.m., Thursday, April 22, until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
