James A. “Jimmy” Dupont, 72, of Masontown, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, at Windy Hill Village.
He was born in Morgantown, on Dec. 18, 1948, a son of the late Emilio and Gladys Gertrude (Nichols) Dupont.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Jimmy worked as a coal miner for 38 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Beveridge) Dupont, of Masontown; one son, Ernest J. Dupont; five grandchildren, Emilio Dupont, Hali Dupont, Kaitlin Jones, Morgan Dupont and Trey Dupont; five great-grandchildren, Aalayah, Emilia, Axton, Waylon and Aria; one brother, Richard D. Dupont; two sisters, Sherry J. Shreve, of Bretz, and Kathy A. Egnor, of Florida; and a special friend and caregiver, Alex Sulick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest T. Dupont.
To honor Jimmy’s wishes there will be no public services. Cremation services will be entrusted to Field Funeral Home in Masontown.
