Charles Hoyt Pase, 76, died on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Charlie was born March 11, 1945, in Thomas, a son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Thelma Pearl (Helmick) Pase Sr.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army reserves. Charlie was self-employed in coal, trucking and recycling, most recently being with Preston Tire and Recycling and Charles H. Pase Waste Tire Monofil. He was a mentor at the Mountaineer Challenge Academy, assisted with the Preston County probation program, was a member and past president of the Preston County Bee Association and active with Preston County Solid Waste Authority, but most of all, Charlie loved being with his family and his dog, Chewy Dawn. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Karen Sue (Britton) Pase; three daughters and spouse, Pamela Dawn Shahan, of Athens, Tenn., Peggy Sue Pase, of Kingwood, and Monica Lynn and Robbie Maxwell, of Morgantown; daughter-in-law, Dixie Ann (Simons) Pase, of Kingwood; two brothers, George Pase, Woodrow Pase Jr., both of Tunnelton; one sister, Kristle Plum, of Albright; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Michael Pase and Robert Andrew Pase; three brothers, Giles Pase, Linton Pase and Wilkie Pase; three sisters, Goldie Pase, Betty Spencer and Sylvia Bolyard; and one granddaughter, Christina Gower.
Family and friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price St., from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Sunday, April 11, and in the funeral home chapel from 5 p.m., Monday, April 12, until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. with Pastor Kelly Gamble officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel and Crematory. Social distancing and masks are required.
