Ruth Ann Brown Shade, 55, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. The daughter of Gary Allen Brown and Lola Jean Shaffer Brown, she was born Dec. 7, 1965, at Saint Vincent Pallotti Hospital in Morgantown.
Ruth attended Morgantown High School and enjoyed fishing with her husband, embroidery, genealogy and, most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Edward “Pete” Shade, whom she married May 27, 2000, she is survived by two sons and their spouses, Chad and Kristen Shade and Isaiah Shade and fiancé Amanda Faulknier; a daughter, Jeanie Brown; stepson, Zachary Wilson; a sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Cliff Jackson; grandchildren, Valory, Kayden, Madechai, Marianna and Ava Shade; Andrew and Grace Jackson; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gary Allen Brown and Lola Jean Shaffer Brown; niece, Angel Jackson; sister-in-law Eva Shade; and brother-in-law, James Shade.
Private family services will be held at Hastings Funeral Home with the Rev. Wesley Dobbs officiating. Interment will follow at Halleck Cemetery.
In accordance with CDC pandemic guidelines, all visitors are to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
