Glenda Jean Troy, 86, of Cassville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Stonerise (Mapleshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center).
The wife of James Glenn Troy and daughter of William Fleming and Zella Fleming Dement, she was born Jan. 27, 1935.
She is survived by sons, James M. (Lois) and David G. (Christine) Troy; and granddaughters, Kristy Jecklin and Melissa Hefner and their families.
Glenda was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family and the kids in the neighborhood. There were always homecooked meals and special treats. She bandaged scrapes, mended britches and provided a great all-American home.
Glenda was talented, teaching herself to play piano to support Glenn’s ministry at Message of Christ Tabernacle. She hand-crafted greeting cards for family and friends. She loved to learn big college words that she could slip into everyday conversation. Glenda was brave. She faced heart disease, cancer and COVID with courage.
She was grateful for her many caregivers.
Glenda cherished her granddaughters and great-grandchildren. She loved her nieces and nephews. She valued her many friends.
Glenda has now reunited with her husband of 67 years. Together, they have crossed Jordan to their Heavenly home. They are absent from the body but present with the Lord.
Due to COVID-19, the family will not be holding any public services. Glenda will be laid to rest in Olive Cemetery alongside her husband with a private family graveside service.
