Lorene Marjorie Ammons Lemley Priest was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She entered into Heaven March 17, 2021, at age 99.
She was born to Albert Z. and Linnie McCord Ammons on Jan. 23, 1922, in Morgantown, the oldest of nine children. After graduating from Clay-Battelle High School in the first graduating class, Lorene met her husband, Roy Lemley, during choir practice at Olive Methodist Church. Together, they had four children: Jean Furman (Glenn), Charles Lemley (Dixie), David Lemley (Ruth), Lois Williams Corbin (Jim). She is preceded in death by husband Roy, son Charles, second husband, Charles “Buddy” Priest, four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her sister Martha “Peg” Tennant, three children, eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, stepdaughter Sharon Priest Hatcher (Bill), three granddaughters and five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
