Adrian Wade Adams, age 86, passed away early Monday morning, March 15, 2021, at Stonerise, Morgantown.
He was born in Gilmer County on March 13, 1935, a son of the late Harold and Opal Lee Powell Adams.
Survivors include his companion of nearly 20 years, Darla McMinn Leach; his children, Bill and Tom Rishel, Alicia Stetz and Buddy and Joe and Becky Adams; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two nephews, Billy Ray Hart, whom he raised from infancy, and Bobby Hart. The family would also like to acknowledge Heather Clark for her love and commitment to Wade as his primary caregiver over the last year.
In addition to his parents, Wade was preceded in death by his former wife, Marion Adams; two children, George Adams and Rose Link; two brothers, Jack and Donald Adams; half brother, Kenny Watson; and sister, Jean Cutlip.
Wade worked for First Energy in Ohio, where he retired as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting and camping in Ohio and for the last several years at Big Bear Lake. He was a very hard-working man, and a devoted and proud provider and father to his children.
All in attendance at the visitation or funeral services must wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
Friends may join the family to honor Wade’s life and legacy at Nicholson Chapel Church, 1326 Summers School Road, Morgantown, on Friday, March 19, 2021, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
