Barbara Jean (Yelich) Tupes, 67, peacefully drifted into the arms of Jesus on Monday March 1, 2021, at Mon Health Medical Center.
Barbara was born on March 8, 1953, a daughter of the late John and Mary Yelich.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Tom Tupes; sisters, Patty and Beverly; and brothers, Butch and Jack.
She is survived by her brothers, George Yelich and Albert Yelich; her daughters, Carla and husband Danny Leo, and Tiffany and husband Brandon Seum, whom she selflessly adored; her beloved grandchildren Jordan, Benji, Jonah and Eli; a special niece, Stacy Hostutler and husband John; a special companion, Anthony “Red” Davish; and a best friend, Connie Clouse.
After starting her family, Barbara went back to college, earning her nursing degree from Fairmont State University. She retired from her career at Care Partners.
Barbara had a zest for life and loved hosting get-togethers for her family and friends. Christmas Eve was a favorite holiday and one she enjoyed celebrating by being surrounded by her beloved family and best friends. She loved bird watching, growing and harvesting a garden and canning her bounty. Barbara was an avid Steelers fan. She had a love for the outdoors, especially going fishing with Red. She was an amazing cook, baking breads and cooking pastas in her kitchen. She had fun while she cooked, dancing with her daughters and filling her home with laughter and joy. Barbara had a beautiful smile and a generous, loving heart. Her grandchildren were a source of great pride for her.
“Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
