Betty Blanche Burns Jenkins, 91, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was the daughter of the late Nellie M. Burns Taylor and stepfather Robert Taylor. She was born on March 1, 1929, and was raised in Rowlesburg.
Betty enjoyed gardening and providing for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two sons, Rick Jenkins, of Oakland, and Ted (Joann) Jenkins, of Terra Alta; three daughters and spouses, Etta Maye and Wayne Anderson, of Friendsville, Md., Judy and Steve West, of Richmond, Texas, and Elizabeth and Gregory Harvey, of Morgantown; 14 grandchildren: Chad Anderson, Stacey Anderson Glotfelty, William West, Jennifer Brown, Melissa Jenkins, Michelle McCarty, Amanda Elmer, Natalie Grose, Shelby Miller, Ashly Huffman, Trevor Jenkins, Maddie, Cassie and Sadie Harvey; 26 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lou Conner, of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Ann Taylor, of Kingwood; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Willard E. Jenkins, on June 16, 2015; a daughter, Patty Jenkins Sanders; a brother, Donald Taylor; and brother-in-law, Tom Conner.
Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home from noon Wednesday, Feb. 24, until the 2 p.m. time of service with Pastor Donnie Savage officiating. Burial will follow in the Faith Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken, the social distancing six-foot rule will be honored and all guests are to wear a mask.
