Menards first store to open at WestRidge Commons

MORGANTOWN — The store meant to anchor WestRidge Commons — the retail portion of the 1,000-plus acre WestRidge business and retail park — is now open.

“I like the location,” said Mark Lange, general manager of Menards, at 351 Brattice Drive in Westover. “It gives a good view of the valley, and the development coming to the area is good for us and the community as well.”

The chain of home improvement stores, based in the Midwest, operates 336 locations. This is the company’s third location in West Virginia and features 175,000 square feet of retail space.

Eventually joining Menards at WestRidge Commons, directly off I-79 Exit 153, will be Bass Pro Shops, HomeGoods, Ross Dress for Less, Burlington, Shoe Carnival and PetSmart. Bass Pro Shops is under construction and, according to information provided by WestRidge previously reported by The Dominion Post, the additional five national retailers are under lease and coming to WestRidge Commons in 2022.

Menards features a full-service lumberyard, as well as a wide selection of roofing, siding, construction blocks, trusses, doors and windows, cabinets, appliances, countertops, flooring, lighting, paint and plumbing supplies. Tools, outdoor equipment, and storage options and supplies are also offered.

The store’s garden center is stocked with plants, shrubs, trees, landscaping tools, grass seed, fertilizer options, outdoor décor and patio furniture.

Shoppers can also find everyday essentials like health and beauty products, housewares, pet and wildlife supplies, automotive items and groceries.

Menards opens the doors at 6 A.M. on Monday, They are located at 351 Brattice Dr in Westover.

Lange said Menards guarantees the lowest prices on its products, and some guest favorites include the store’s line of Masterforce tools, Mastercraft doors manufactured at its own facilities and customizable KLËARVE cabinetry.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lange said, Menards has instituted curbside pick-up, so shoppers are able to order online and receive goods without entering the store.

He added that those who choose to browse inside can rest assured that proper precautions are being taken.

“We clean throughout the day and have a program at night as well … to ensure our team members and shoppers are in a safe environment,” he said.
