Barbara R. Bruno, 92, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late Clarence and Nellie (Cumpston) Long.
She attended Mount Morris Assembly of God, was in the Vivacious Violets in the Red Hats and enjoyed participating in her exercise group at Suncrest United Methodist Church. She was proud to be a registered nurse at St. Vincent Pallotti Hospital and Mon Health Medical Center for many years.
Mrs. Bruno is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Bruno Nebera, of Richmond, Va., and Nancy Bruno Claypool and her husband Joseph, of Lexington, Ky.; grandchildren, Ryan Nebera and his wife Katherine, Patrick Nebera and his wife Morgan, all of Richmond, Va., Joel Claypool and his wife Emily, of Birmingham, Ala., and Olivia Claypool and Ryan Combs, of Lexington, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Lucy, Lyla, Bear and Stella Nebera, Harper and Hayes Claypool and Boone Combs; and sister-in-law, Nancy Long, of Morgantown.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Primo John Bruno; siblings, James and John Long; and her companion, Charles Maxon.
The family would like to thank her loving neighbors and caregivers, especially Marcie Lewis and Betty and Matt Cross.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to one’s local Salvation Army.
Due to COVID-19, all service will be private with interment to take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mount Morris.
