Tony Lockhart

Tony Curtis Lockhart, 61, of Eugene, Ore. and formerly of Terra Alta, passed away Jan. 1, 2021, as the result of a tragic traffic accident.

Tony was born Oct. 24, 1959, in Pittsburgh, a son of Clara Belle Mersing Lockhart and the late Freddie L. Lockhart Sr.

A 1977 graduate of Terra Alta High School, Tony later moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in anthropology from the University of Alaska in June of 1990, always having been recognized on the Dean’s List.

After settling in Eugene, Ore., Tony married Angela Nye. They have two beautiful daughters, Zoey Madison (15) and Nicia Alena (9).

Tony made his career as an Engineering Technician at A&O Engineering, a civil engineering firm located in Eugene, Ore.

In addition to Angela and their daughters, Tony is survived by his mother, Clara Belle Mersing Lockhart, of Terra Alta; two brothers, Fred Lockhart (Sherryl), of Eugene, Ore., and Greg Lockhart, of Minneapolis; two sisters, Cheryl Lockhart-Gwiazdowsky (Mark), of Oakland, Md., and Michele Kirk (Barry), of Terra Alta; six nephews: Brandon Kirk (Erin), of Terra Alta, David Kirk, of Fairmont, Jonathan Kirk, of Morgantown, Ben Lockhart, of Seattle, Joe Lockhart, of Portland, Ore., Jake Lockhart, of Eugene, Ore., Nick Gwiazdowsky, of Oakland, Md., and William Lockhart, of Minneapolis; and three nieces, Holly Robinson (Jason), of Morgantown, Mallory Lockhart, of Eugene, Ore., and Izabelle Lockhart, of Minneapolis; along with four great-nieces and one great-nephew.

In addition to his father, Tony was preceded in death by his sister Deborah Lynn Lockhart.
