Evelyn Lois Davis McCauley, 83, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021. Evelyn was born on Sept. 26, 1937, daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn Davis.
Evelyn was a member of the Community United Methodist Church, sang in the choir and played her fiddle for many years. She retired from Morgantown Utility Board as a secretary in January 1999. After retirement, she was a part-time employee at Chico Bakery. She was also affiliated with the Halleck Cemeteries Association for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed being outdoors and traveling.
Evelyn is survived by her three children, Hayward Jay McCauley and spouse Pamela McCauley, Belinda Howenstein and spouse John Howenstein and Cheri Schoonover and fiancé Terry Hose; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nancy Carol Masters.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hayward McCauley Jr.; one sister, Shirley L. Davis; one brother, Charles R. Davis; brother-in-law, John L. Masters; and sister-in-law, Carol Sue Davis.
The family will receive friends at Fred Jenkins Funeral Home from 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7 until the time of service at 1 p.m. All visitors will be expected to wear a face covering, follow social distancing guidelines and limit their time to 15 minutes. Burial will follow at the Halleck Cemetery.
