Opal Louise Sainato, 96, of New Freeport, Pa., died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, in the Evergreen Assisted Living Center in Waynesburg, Pa.
She was born Nov. 28, 1924, at Wana, a daughter of the late Glenn Thomas and Delphia Florence Moore Thomas.
Opal sold Avon and Tupperware and worked at Dye’s Store in Jollytown, Pa., for many years. She enjoyed canning, gardening, and working with her flowers.
She was a member of the former Jollytown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Lynn Taylor, of New Freeport, Pa., and James Taylor and his wife Susan, of Pine Bank, Pa.; one daughter and her husband, Karen Perry and James, of Parma, Ohio; four grandchildren, Robert Taylor, Amy Tuttle, Tara Taylor and Anna Perry; and six great-grandchildren, Grayson Taylor, Meredith Taylor, Sydney Hoyle, Addie Tuttle, Ava Tuttle and Casey Burford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Sainato; three brothers, Fred Thomas, Johnnie Thomas and Harry Glenn Thomas, who died as an infant; three sisters, Dorothy Hickman, Carol Curtis and Violet Rockwell; and a daughter-in-law, Jackie Taylor.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow in the Eakin Cemetery at Jollytown, Pa.
