Ann Christopher

Ann Marie Christopher, 80, of Bruceton Mills, went to be with the Lord, Dec. 12, 2020, with her family by her side.

The daughter of the late Carmen Moreno and Lois Rogis Solorio, she was born Nov. 13, 1940, on Bertha Hill in Monongalia County.

As a child, Ann (aka Grammy) enjoyed playing with her six siblings. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Keith Christopher, with whom she was married for 57 years. She enjoyed square dancing, camping and trips with her husband. Ann was a homemaker in her early years, staying home and taking care of her son, husband and household, until her son was able to attend school. She then worked for Morgan Shirt Factory, O.J. Morrison’s, and Mylan Pharmaceuticals, from where she retired. She enjoyed cooking for her family, baking, looking at cookbooks for hours, caring for and showing off her beautiful calla lilies, going on trips with the senior center, sitting on the porch talking to her friends, watching the neighbors drive by and family time. She really enjoyed the time she spent with her granddaughters and babysitting her precious great-granddaughters. The sun raised and set on them. Ann was a strong feisty woman all her life and needed very little to make her happy. She loved being a mother, grandmother and a great-grandmother and always made sure her family came first.

Ann is survived by a son and his wife, Wendell and Jennie Christopher, of Bruceton Mills; two granddaughters, Alisa Carter and her husband, Jeffrey, of Morgantown, and Erica Christopher, of Fairmont, and her fiancé Jeremiah Clark; three great-granddaughters, Sophie Carter, Scarlett Carter and Suri Carter, of Morgantown; former daughter-in-law, Debbie Christopher, of Brandonville and her fiance, Gary Smith, of Romney; two sisters, Alicia Blosser and Margaret Mills, of Morgantown; a brother, Mike Solorio, of Napa, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews and her companion cat, Rasal.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Christopher; two brothers, Louis and Raymond Solorio; and two sisters, Mary Joseph and Vicki Lazzelle.

A private family viewing will be held for the family at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills from 11 a.m.-noon, Friday, Dec. 18.
Family and friends are welcome to attend the graveside memorial service Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at 1 p.m. in the Fairview Cemetery, Bruceton Mills, Pisgah, with Pastor Gary Smith officiating. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and guidelines by the Governor and the CDC, face masks and social distancing are required.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Ann’s three granddaughters, who will be attending Covenant Christian School, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Covenant Christian School, 802 Green Bag Road, Morgantown, WV 26508.
