Nikki Gae Livengood, 46, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, after a courageous 17 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Her loving family surrounded her during her final weeks. Her strength and faith amazed everyone throughout her illness.
She was born on Aug. 23, 1974, in Morgantown, the precious daughter of George and Brenda Hendershot. Nikki was a graduate of WV Career College and was an employee of the U. S. Department of Justice for 23 years as a records identification examiner. She had received the distinguished FBI Directors Award for outstanding performance.
She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed the weekends spent at their camp at Camp Wapocoma in Romney (Hampshire County). However, her greatest enjoyment was her son, Tucker Livengood, and watching him grow into a fine young man. Nikki loved watching him play sports for many years. She was always his number one fan and cheerleader. She volunteered as the team mom and formed many cherished lasting friendships.
Nikki was an avid WVU Mountaineer and wore her gold and blue proudly. In honor of her memory, we are asking everyone attending her services to wear their favorite WVU apparel.
In addition to her parents, Nikki is survived by her loving husband, Will Livengood Jr. The two recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Sept. 9, 2020. She is also survived by her pride and joy, her son, Tucker Livengood, and their dog, Ruger. In addition to her parents, she is also survived by in-laws, Willis Sr., and Pam Livengood; brother, Shane and his wife Wendy Hendershot; sister-in-law and good friend, Olivia Davis and husband Greg; her nephews, Brody and Gage Hendershot and Aiden Davis; her best friend, Joan Samargo; friends, Lori Martin and Tonya Kellar; aunts and uncles Rick and Darlene Dalton, Mark and Monica Dalton, Jim and Frances Mathess, Betty Grazulis and Chuck and Helen Kennedy; grandfather-in-law, the Rev. Winfield Mayle; and many loving cousins.
Her mother-in-law, Debbie Livengood; grandparents, George and Audrey Hendershot and Gay and Carolyn Dalton; her grandmother-in-law, Kathleen Mayle; and cousins, Jimmy Mathess and Joe Kennedy preceded her in death.
She was blessed with a loving caring family who supported her throughout her illness, especially her cousin, Kim Trimble, who accompanied Nikki and Will on many trips to John Hopkins Hospital, and her sister-in-law, Olivia Davis, who helped with her care in those final days. Their kindness will never be
forgotten.
The family wishes to thank WV Caring, Nikki’s “Angel” Camile Western and our many friends and neighbors who have supported us through this very difficult time. Words cannot express our appreciation for all love and
kindness.
Serving as pallbearers are Brody Hendershot, Gage Hendershot, Aiden Davis, Ed Trimble, Jeremy Mayle, Elmo Trickett and Lukas Samargo.
Family and friends will be received at Harvest Family Worship Center, 800 Green Bag Road Morgantown from 2:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, and will continue from 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, until the time of service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Although guests are invited to come visit, it is required, per the governor and CDC pandemic guidelines, that all visitors wear face masks and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nikki’s memory to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
