Christopher Allen “Chris” Deavers, 48, of Morgantown passed away Saturday evening, Dec. 5, 2020 at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Morgantown.
Chris was born Sept. 13, 1972, in Bluefield, a son of the late Allen Deavers, and Suszann Haught, who survives him in Morgantown.
In addition to his mother and stepfathers, Lee Haught and Earl Tokey Buzzo, survivors include a son, Wyatt Deavers; his siblings, Tracy Bryan and wife Rebecca Buzzo, Darla Buzzo, Tracie Lynn Deavers, Milinda Wolfe and husband Randall Wolfe Jr., Michael Buzzo and Carolina Blosser and husband Bubby Blosser; several nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Dallas Maree Paugh; and a brother, Duke Buzzo.
Chris adored his son and made him the most important thing in his life. He was formerly employed by the Dominion Post and Buzzo’s Ambulance Service. Chris was an amazing singer who loved to sing in church.
He was a gentle giant and a big teddy bear. He was always jovial and a joy to be around.
Friends may join the family to honor Chris’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown, from 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8 until the time of the funeral service at 7:30 p.m. Following the funeral service, and in accordance with his request, Chris will be cremated.
Those in attendance at the visitation and funeral service will be required to wear a face covering and practice all recommended social distancing guidelines. Guests are also asked to limit their visitation with the family to 15 minutes or less.
