James R. “Jimmy” Herrington, 63, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 27, 2020 with his loving wife at his side. Jimmy was born on Oct. 2, 1957, and graduated from University High School in 1976 in Morgantown.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Rita Rendina Herrington; mother, Shirley Zator Windon and husband Harry, of Fairmont; brothers, Larry Herrington and wife Joyce and Ronald Ray Herrington and wife Mary Ann, all of Morgantown; sister, Debra Golden and companion Vinny, of Syracuse, N.Y.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Herrington.
Jimmy began his trucking business, JRH Trucking LTD, in 1986. He built a successful company and was very well respected and liked in the Coal Trucking Industry. This was his whole life. He, along with his wife, worked extremely hard to obtain a fleet of trucks. He continued to excel and became a professional in the trade. He also did his maintenance and mechanical work himself. In 2018, he was forced to retire due to his illness.
Jimmy built a beautiful fishpond in 2000 at his home, which still thrives today. He faithfully fed the fish and the birds daily. He enjoyed watching them from the window as he drank his morning coffee. He was proud of the aesthetics he created around his home and loved nature.
