Ellas James “Sam” Tennant, 62, a resident of Morgantown, passed from this life Thursday Oct. 29, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.
Sam was born on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1957 in Morgantown, a son of the late Melvin E. Tennant and Nellie P. Shriver Turney, of Youngstown, Ohio. He married the former Cynthia Diane Marks, who survives.
Also left to cherish his memory are three children, Derek, Jessie and Travis Tennant; four grandchildren; eight siblings, Patricia Thompson, Daryl Tennant, Donna Averill, Barbara Tennant, Melvin Tennant Jr., Darlene Tennant, Joseph Tennant and Ellen Turney; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Sam in death besides his father was one sister, Eva Tennant.
Sam’s request for cremation was honored. The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Ellis James Tennant. There will be a remembrance dinner for Sam at the Blue Horizon Flea Market, 1546 Blue Horizon Dr., Morgantown, WV 26501 at 3 p.m. Saturday Nov. 14.
