Jean Moore-Luke

D. Jean Moore-Luke, 89, of Kingwood, formerly from Wheeling, died on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020, at her home.

Jean was born March 30, 1931, in McKeesport, Pa., a daughter of the late Irvin Elroy and Alberta (Bruce) Helsel.

She was a 1947 graduate of McKeesport High. Jean retired from Stone and Thomas as a salesclerk and she was a member of the Elm Grove Methodist Church, the Junior Women’s Club and the Miriam Chapter #1 O.E.S., all in Wheeling.

She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Poluga, of Kingwood; three grandchildren, Matthew Poluga, of Jackson Hole, Wyo., Lindsay Fowler, of Beaverton, Ore., and Heidi Porter, of Wheeling; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John “Jack” Moore, in 1975, and her second husband, Frank Luke, in 1984; her daughter, Peggy Lee Moore; and one sister, Judy Bumpers.

Cremation services are under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel and Crematory. Interment will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling.

The family requests any memorial donations be made in Jean’s memory to the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties, 278 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV 26505.
