Deborah Irene ‘Debbie’ Shinkovich, 64, of Jere (Monongalia County), passed away Saturday Oct. 24, 2020, at Mon Health Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was born April 20, 1956, in Baltimore, a daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Brady Nicholson.
Debbie enjoyed her regular beach trips to Daytona Beach, enjoyed shopping for country crafts, and loved her animals, especially her cats. Most of all, Debbie was family oriented and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a former treasurer of the Mt. Morris Sportsman Association.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard “Rich” Shinkovich; son, Richard Shinkovich II and wife Dawn; daughter, Rachael Johnson and husband Mark, all of Jere; grandchildren, Tyler Shinkovich, Richard “Trey” Shinkovich III, Colin Shinkovich and Spencer Johnson; brothers, Ronald Nicholson, of Georgia, and James Nicholson, of Morgantown; sister, Terry Hancock, of Texas; and two special friends, Asha McCormick and Candy Lohiser, both of Mt. Morris, Pa.
In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Nicholson.
Honoring Debbie’s wishes, cremation is being arranged by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home and a private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
