Trinity gets big road win at Beallsville (Ohio) 43-14

BEALLSVILLE, OHIO — The Trinity football team got a road win Friday night, knocking off Beallsville (Ohio) 43-14.

Beallsville got on the board first with a 64-yard touchdown pass on its first possession after receiving the opening kickoff. Following a punt on Trinity’s first drive, Evan Rice intercepted Beallsville’s pass, returning it to the Beallsville 2-yard line.

On 2nd down, quarterback Drew Boczek scrambled and flipped a pass to Calvin Blunt Jr., who took it in for a 1-yard touchdown. On Beallsville ensuing possession, Boczek intercepted a pass. However, Trinity gave the ball right back to Beallsville on a lost fumble. The first quarter ended with Beallsville up 8-6.

The Warriors took the lead early in the second quarter when Levi Teets pulled in a jump ball for a 9-yard touchdown reception from Boczek. Trinity added two more first half scores — a 15-yard touchdown reception by Carmelo Kniska from Boczek and a 5-yard touchdown run by Boczek. Trinity took a 27-8 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Kyle Knight, who was 4 for 5 on extra point attempts, opened the scoring in the third quarter with a successful 29-yard field goal. Anthony Brookover added a 5-yard rushing touchdown. Teets also added his second touchdown after going in motion and taking a touch pass from Jaylon Hill and went 45 yards.

In addition to the two interceptions forced by Trinity, the Warriors recovered two Blue Devils fumbles — one by Brookover and one by Kniska.

Beallsville added a late touchdown on a long pass and catch to round out the scoring with a final score of 43-14. Trinity will host Steubenville Catholic at 7 p.m. Oct. 30.
