Betty Lou Goodwin, 88, of Morgantown, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, in Aberdeen, N.C. She was born Jan. 20, 1932, in Pt. Marion, Pa., a daughter of the late John C. and Geneva (Thomason) Sherman.
She was a member of Spruce St. United Methodist Church and worked for many years as a nursing supervisor at Mon Health Medical Center. She and her husband were charter members of the Pines Country Club and she loved golfing in her younger years. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, crafts, needlework and watching sports on TV.
She is survived by her children, Holly Williams and her husband Mike, of Bridgeport, Richard Lee Goodwin and his wife Mary, of Winchester, Va., and Scott Alan Goodwin and his wife Dianna, of Aberdeen, N.C; grandchildren, Christopher M. Williams, of Pittsburgh, Tyler N. Williams and his wife Heather, of Nashville, Tenn., Brooke M. Goodwin, of Winchester, Va., Kaylin E. Goodwin, of Morgantown, and Allysin J. Goodwin, of Morgantown; great-grandson, Desmond Williams, of Nashville, Tenn.; and sister, Doris Jean Beatty, of Pt. Marion, Pa.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Goodwin and son, Gary Lester Goodwin.
Private family services have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown with interment to take place at Lawnwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Cheat Area Public Library, 121 Crosby Road, Morgantown, WV 26508.
