The Morgantown volleyball team cruised its way through the OVAC Championship bracket to a title bout with Wheeling Park. After falling behind 2-1 in three sets, the Mohigans dominated Park in the final two sets to win the conference title, further solidifying a dominant season as the postseason nears.
Park and MHS (10-4) traded sets one and two, and Park took set three by a slim 28-26 margin to put the Mohigans in a corner heading into set four. But senior leader and Marshall commit Alayna Corwin was there to lead the way, helping MHS to a 25-13 win that crucial set. The Mohigans maintained the momentum heading into the tie breaker, easily defeating the Patriots, 15-10.
Corwin led the team with 21 kills and tacked on two aces and seven digs. Ella Vorhees (1 kill, 1 assist, 16 digs), Brooke Lyons (2 kills, 1 block, 25 assists, 8 digs), Paige Brock (1 block, 17 assists, 7 digs) and Grace Washburn (1 ace, 9 kills, 8 blocks, 4 digs) were also crucial in the big win.
