Drug task force charges four in two days

The Mon Metro Drug Task Force arrested two alleged marijuana dealers, an alleged heroin dealer and an alleged crack dealer after searching four different homes in two days.

Devin James Morris, 21, of Charleston, and Bishop Reese, 22, of Morgantown, are each charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana.

On Thursday, the task force searched Morris’ room in a College Park apartment and found a ” large amount of a green and brown leafy substance” thought to be marijuana, 55 THC cartridges, money, a scale, packaging materials and three handguns, according to a criminal complaint.

A bank statement to Morris from PNC Bank was also found in the bedroom, the complaint said.

Morris is free on $5,000 bond.Reese is on probation in Monongalia County and probation officers found evidence which lead them to believe there were illegal materials in his home, a criminal complaint said.

The task force was alerted and searched Reese’s apartment on Allen Avenue, off of Richwood Avenue, where about 14 ounces of marijuana, bags used for packaging materials, a large sum of U.S. current and two firearms were found, according to the complaint.

Reese is free on $15,000 bond.

Patrick John Collins, 30, of Detroit, is charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin and conspiracy.

A team of task force officers and the West Virginia State Police Special Response Team searched an apartment at 1448 Van Voorhis Road on Friday.

Collins and two other people were inside as was a digital scale and a bag with a tan substance on the stove, a criminal complaint said. A field test of the tan substance showed it to be heroin.

Three semi-automatic guns and narcotic packaging materials were also found, the complaint said.

Collins is being held in North Central Regional Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Donovan Jamal Swift, 30, of Shelby Township, Michigan, is charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine and conspiracy.

On Friday the task force searched Swift’s house on Tremont Street, in the North Hills neighborhood, and found him in an upstairs bedroom, according to a criminal complaint.

In the bedroom was a vacuum sealed back with six separate crack cocaine packages – totaling more than 140 grams – inside a pair of jean shorts, the complaint said. Two digital scales were also in the shorts.

Swift is being held in North Central Regional Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.Magistrate Jim Nabors arraigned all four suspects.
