Deputies charged man with wanton endangerment
A 21-year-old was arrested after he allegedly fired a gun outside an apartment at Copper Beech Town Homes.
Markus O. Guy is charged with wanton endangerment by the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to the call about 2 a.m. Friday.
When they arrived, a man said he was in an argument with the neighbors a few doors down who said they were going to “send someone over,” according to a criminal complaint.
Later, a group of people were outside the man’s door, banging on it, and when he looked out the window he saw two people running into an apartment a few doors down, the complaint said. He told deputies he heard someone say, “Markus, what are you doing?” after the gunshot.
A casing was found in front of the man’s apartment, the complaint said.
Guy eventually admitted to a deputy that he shot a gun outside the apartment, according to the complaint.
He was arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court by Magistrate Tim Pocius and is free on $25,000 bond.
