Jeanette Sue Baniak, 79, of Star City, passed away on Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 29, 1941, in Morgantown.
Jeanette retired in 2007 from WVU Eberly College of Arts and Sciences after 36 years. More recently, Jeanette worked at Hallmark.
Jeanette is survived by her three children, Edmund Baniak II, of Rehoboth Beach, Del., and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Gregory Baniak, of Wana, and Cynthia Ulrich, of Star City; and grandchildren, Tyler Olszewski, Zachary Olszewski and Roman Olszewski. She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Edmund “Cats” Baniak.
Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Shriners or Amedisys Hospice Care.
Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Star City at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2 presided by Fr. John McDonough. Due to COVID-19, Mass attendees are requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing. Jeanette will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in the Peace Mausoleum at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Star City.
