Edward Adams

Edward Lee Adams, 84, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020, at home following a long illness.

He was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Morgantown, a son of Russell Dale and Mary (Hively) Adams.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 61 years, Barbara Alice Samsell Adams; three children, Atticus Adams, of Pittsburgh, Jeff Adams, of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Julie Adams, of Morgantown; three grandchildren, Rob Adams, of North Carolina, Alex Adams, of California, and Elli Adams, of North Carolina; and two siblings, Irmadell Adams Pugh and Patty Weaver, both of Morgantown.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams was preceded in death by a brother, Russell “Mikey” Adams.

Mr. Adams served as a United States Army Ranger. He was an accomplished researcher with the U.S. Forestry Service who enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.

Mr. Adams’s request for cremation is being honored by his family, and he will be inurned at a later date in the West Virginia National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
