Linda Kaye Cummins, 71, of Fort Washington, Md., and formerly of Morgantown, passed away at her home on Aug. 20, 2020. Linda was born in Morgantown on July 14, 1949, to the late Noal Hitchcock and Betty Kirk Hitchcock.
Linda was born and raised in Morgantown and graduated from Morgantown High School in 1967. She attended West Virginia University for two years, toward a degree in geriatrics. She later worked for several years at the Physicians Office Center at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She had a natural talent for crafting and could make a wide variety of crafts. Her specialty was angel pins. She was a former member of Sabraton Baptist Church.
Linda is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Cummins, whom she married on Nov. 30, 1991; her daughter, Sheri L. Kirchmar DeBari (Jamie); stepdaughter, Jodi Cummins; sister, Sharon Hitchcock Hillberry (Challen); grandchildren, Kylie, Caleb, Isabella and Jonah; and nephew, Michael Hillberry (Jessica) and their children, Maya and Olivia.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Mikaela DeBari.
A time of visitation will be held at McCulla Funeral Home from 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27 until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Scott Whetzel officiating. All current CDC guidelines will be followed, including social distancing, and masks are required. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.
