Mary Katherine Cook Perry, 92, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Hospice care in Elkins, on Aug. 6, 2020. Mary spent her final days surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 25, 1928, in Logan County, to the late Ott Cook and Georgia Cook. Mary graduated from Man High School and attended Marshall University. She devoted her life to caring for her family and friends.
Mary is survived by sisters, Dorthy Venters and Anna Smith, of Florida; son, Everett Edward Perry Jr. (Joyce), of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Beverly Ann Fragale, of Morgantown, and Katherine Sue Westbrook (Mike), of Dryfork (Randolph County); nine grandchildren, Ed, Dean, Amanda, Josh, Cassie, Melissa, Jeremy, Deana and Jordan; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Everett Edward Perry Sr.; a son, Gordon Dean; and daughter, Kimberly Groves.
Mary was known to have a big heart and even bigger personality. She was kind, generous, and caring to so many people. Known as “Nanny” to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her extended family that adopted her as Nanny. She loved touching lives and the love that was given back to her.
Private services will be held for the family at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home with burial to follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
