Dema Louise Parrotta, 75 of Morgantown passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 9, 1945, in Mooresville, a daughter of the late James “Bud” Earl Varner and Maxine Louise Moore Varner.
Dema had been employed at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital as a CNA in the operating room and recovery. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and baseball and, in her younger years, bowling. She also loved to crochet in her spare time but her favorite activity was spending time with her family.
Dema is survived by two daughters, Tamie Louise (Bruce) Parrotta, of Fairmont and Robin LouAnn (Timmy) Corley, of Morgantown; one son, Timothy Eugene (Sherry Ann) McCord, of Morgantown; one stepson, Brian Parrotta; grandchildren, Tiphanie, Curtis, Christopher, Justin, Cara, Stephanie, Daniel and Nicole; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three brothers, David Varner, Delmas Varner and Daniel Varner.
Dema was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Parrotta; two brothers, Donnie Varner and Dennis Varner; and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor John Brosky officiating. Burial will follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery in Mooresville. COVID-19 recommended guidelines for masks and social distancing will be implemented.
