Arlin Eddy

Arlin Paul Eddy, 85, of Fairmont, passed away at the home of his daughter on July 13, 2020, with his family by his side. Paul was born in Fairview, on July 25, 1934, to the late Joseph L. Eddy and Florence Elizabeth Tennant Eddy.

Paul was an avid fisherman and hunter and would tell anyone willing to listen about his latest catches. Paul was a proud U.S. Marine and also drove a truck for the L&G Potato Chip Company. His greenhouse and gardens in Hagans kept his friends and family well stocked in beautiful flowers and delicious produce year after year. All of his friends, family, and neighbors knew they needed only ask if they required his help or
expertise.

Paul is survived by his wife of 22 years, Carolyn Collins Eddy; daughters, Paulett Prendergast (Lee), Beth Cochran, Donna Seifrit, and Kimberly Kesner (Allen); son, Joseph Eddy; stepchildren, Mike, Pat, and Brian Seifrit, Carol Butcher, Betsy Riggleman, Kristie Good, Jonathan and Alicia Leadbeater and all of their families. He is also survived by his sister; Janice Brummage (Ray), sister-in-law, June Eddy; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by two wives: Medora Eddy and “Winnie” Cain Eddy; sisters, Eileen Moore, Louella Bane, Regina Olive Eddy, Betty Eddy and Ruby Copeland; and two brothers, Olin Eddy and Tom Eddy.

A service will be held at Hagans Christian Church at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 16 with Pastor Isaac Harmon officiating. A time for family to gather at the church will be from 11 a.m.-1 pm. Due to COVID-19, masks will be required and social distancing and other guidelines in place must be followed. Burial will follow at Hagans Cemetery with military honors conferred by Westover VFW #9916 and Marine Corps Military Honor Guard.
