Three people arrested after vehicle chase

MORGANTOWN — All three people in a vehicle were arrested after the driver led West Virginia State Police on a winding chase through Morgantown.

Trooper M. Wilson, who was involved in the chase, said it wasn’t too fast because it never stayed on one road long enough to really get going.

About 10 p.m. Monday, troopers attempted to stop a green 1997 Subaru Impreza because its right brake light was “defective,” according to a criminal complaint.

The vehicle was traveling east on 8th Street, turned right onto Grant Avenue and then right onto 7th Street, the complaint said.

The vehicle briefly stopped on 7th Street but as troopers approached it on foot, the driver, a white man, took off, the complaint said. Two women were passengers.

The chase started and went north on Beechurst Avenue, east on 8th Street, south on Grant Avenue, west onto Campus Drive, north onto Beechurst Avenue until turning right onto Evansdale Drive., according to the complaint.

From Evansdale Drive, the chase continued down the hill, left onto Patteson Drive, right onto Laurel Street, right onto Elmhurt Street, into the parking lot of the CMA Church of Morgantown and into Krepps Park up a hill and along a sidewalk to Monongahela Boulevard traveling towards Star City.

Next, the Subaru turned onto Boyers Avenue, then to University Avenue and left into the area of Fairfield Street, the complaint said.

The officers lost sight of the vehicle but found it near 600 Mansfield Ave.

Monongalia County Sheriff’s deputies found a white male, identified as Zachary Aaron Kramer, 22, of Morgantown, on Somerset Street, which connects to Mansfield Avenue.

Kramer is charged with fleeing from an officer in a vehicle with reckless indifference.

Star City Police found two  women walking near Sheetz in Star City. The troopers recognized them as the passengers.

PaulaLynn Jean Dailey, 29, of Waynesburg, Pa., was found in possession of multiple digital scales, under $1,000, packaging materials, and a “white-crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine,” the complaint said.

She is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Wilson said he did not weigh the drugs because of the risk of exposure and sent it to the lab for
testing.

The other passenger, Rachel Lynn Eddy, 29, of Brave, Pa., was charged with obstructing an officer by the Star City Police Department.
