Edna Seymour

Edna Mae Goodwin Seymour, 73, of Morgantown, formerly of Mt. Morris, Pa., joined her late husband, William O. Seymour, on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Sundale Nursing Home. She was born on Oct. 29, 1946, in Grafton, the third child and second daughter of the late Noel Elnor and Audra Arlene Hovatter Goodwin.
She graduated from Grafton High School, Class of 1964, and then attended West Virginia Business College in Fairmont. Edna was retired from Mon Health Medical Center, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital and Sundale Nursing Home as a housekeeper, cook and waitress. Edna was a member of Cheat Lake Baptist Church. She was an avid WVU Fan.

Edna is survived by a special stepdaughter, Kimber Soles and husband, Scotty, S.C.; a special niece, Sheryl Lynn Maier and husband, John, of Tunnelton, and their son, Mathew and grandson, Gunner; her grandchildren, L.B. Neer and wife, Lindsay and family, Seth Neer and fiancé, Heather, Justin Soles, Lance Seymour, Kennedy Miller and Jacob and their children, Alaileigh and Josiah; Alicia Seymour and Kyle Seymour. She has two children, Chloe and Alliyah and a niece, Indy. She also has a special great-granddaughter, Lakelyn; one sister, Nellie Eleanor Britton and husband Roy, of Arthurdale; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her fur babies, Fluffy and Prince. Edna also thought of Jason Martin and Nathan Gillespie as her sons.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Olen Seymour, in 2007; two daughters, Vanessa and Kristi; one stepson, Kevin Seymour; one sister, Charlotte Bolyard, in 2011 and one brother-in-law, Willard Bolyard, in 2019.

Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave., Newburg from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, until the service at 12:30 p.m. with David Spence and Nathan Gillispie officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
