David Dee Riley Jr., 67, of Morgantown, went home to be with his Lord on June 28, 2020, at home with his loving family by his side.
He was born Nov. 3, 1952, in Norfolk, Va., a son of Kathleen (Groves) Riley and the late David D. Riley Sr.
David was honored to serve his country in the United States Navy on board the USS F.D. Roosevelt from 1972-1978 where he received the National Defense Service Medal. He then worked as a painter for different contractors. He was self-employed owning his own paint Business “Dave’s Small Jobs” and then was employed by the Monongalia County Board of Education as a custodian working at Mylan Park Elementary.
He was a member of the University Church of Christ.
David is survived by his wife, Judy Kay, of Morgantown; his son, Christopher Riley, of Morgantown; his daughter, Melisa Riley, of San Antonio; his sister, Dana and her husband Tom Bolyard, of Fort Mill, S.C., his sister, Robin and her husband Scott Wilson, of Rocklin, Calif.; a brother, Jeffery Riley, of Greenville, S.C.; two grandchildren, Alexander and Azalyah Riley, of Morgantown; as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Chidester.
Family and friends will be received at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 1-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, until the service hour at 11 a.m. with Evangelist Peter Ray Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Saint Luke Cemetery at Mooresville.
