Charles Crider

Charles Edward Crider, 72, of Morgantown, passed away at his home on June 18, 2020. He was born in Morgantown on June 22, 1947, to the late Robert Francis Crider and Violet Nicholson Crider.

Charles enjoyed working on cars, fishing and tinkering on things in his basement. Charles was a very loving person and will be deeply missed. He was a retired member of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda McDowell Crider; daughters, Christina Liddell Beck, of Westover, and Tonya L. Crider of Morgantown; sons, Michael McDowell (Channing), of Westover, Bruce T. Whitner II, of Westover; Terrance L. Crider, of Morgantown, and Kevin Crider of Boston, Massachusetts; and one brother, Dave Crider, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Sue Crider and a brother, Robert Crider.

Friends are invited to gather at a public visitation at McCulla Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 22. A service will be held at 7 p.m. with Bishop Carlton officiating. Military honors will be accorded by Westover VFW Post 9916 and US Navy Funeral Honors. Following the service, McCulla Funeral Home will provide cremation services. Although the visitation is public, COVID-19 guidelines will be followed.
