Residents of Sundale Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care in Morgantown enjoyed a parade of vehicles carrying friends and family members by Sunday afternoon.
Like other nursing facility across the state, Sundale has been closed to visitors since March 12 due to COVID-19.
The facility’s nursing and Activities staffs took the residents outside to watch as the parade went by. Vehicles carrying family members could stop briefly to say hello to their loved ones. Residents and family members alike made signs to carry during the parade.
On March 29, Sundale had its first confirmed case of COVID-19. The virus spread among more than 50 of its residents and staff. An isolation unit was set up to keep as many residents as possible safe from the virus. Most of those who contracted the virus have since tested negative. Tests continue weekly until all have recovered.
