Some state level offices are being sought by only one person on each party. The Dominion Post did not do candidate profiles on these races for the primary election. All the candidates will be contacted before the November general election and information will be presented to our readers.
Secretary of State Mac Warner, a Republican, will face Democrat Natalie Tennant in the general election.
In the contest for state auditor, incumbent Republican John “JB” McCluskey will face off against Democrat Mary Ann Roebuck Claytor this fall.
Incumbent Democrat John Perdue is running for another term as state treasurer. His Republican opponent in November will be Riley Moore.
In the 14th District State Senate race, incumbent Republican Randy Smith and Democrat David C. Childers are both unopposed in the primary.
In the State House of Delegates 5th District, Democrat Dave Pethtel and Republican Phillip T. Wiley are unopposed in the primary.
