9 democrats, 3 republicans run for House of Delegates 50th District

Nine Democrats and three Republicans are vying for the three seats of the House of Delegates 50th District, representing most of Marion County.

Three Democrats now hold the seats but two of them, Mike Caputo and Linda Longstreth are stepping down to seek other offices: Caputo the 13th Senate District, Longstreth the county commission.

That leaves Michael Angelucci, of Farmington, as the only incumbent seeking reelection. One former delegate, Guy Ward, of White Hall, is running to return to office.

The three Republicans will pass through to the general election and the Democrat field will be whittled to three in the June 9 primary.
