Mary Cool

Mary Louise Mitter Cool, 83, of Kingwood, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at her residence with family by her side. She was born on Feb. 9, 1937, in Newburg, daughter of the late Woodrow “Chuck” Wilson Mitter and Iva Evelyn Powell Mitter.

Mary had worked as a nurse’s aide and meds pass aide for Brooke Grove Nursing Home in Olney, Md., and a nurse’s aide at Heartland of Preston County. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kingwood. Mary loved watching the Hallmark Inspiration and Denotational Movies, reading those books and was an avid reader of the Bible. In her earlier years, she loved cleaning house and embroidering.

Mary is survived by two daughters, Pamela L. Baylor and Richard and Paula F. Cool, all of Kingwood; four grandchildren, William Baylor, of Kingwood, Samantha Goldberg and Stephanie Goldberg, both of Gaithersburg, Md., Jason Baylor and Shelley, of Parkersburg; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Shalyn, Sarah, Ivory, Kourtney and Gabriel; three sisters, Virginia “Gin” Rhodes, Newburg, Pearl Sines and Jim, of Terra Alta, Evelyn Jennings and Buck, of Scotch Hill, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Dennis Cool in 2012; one grandson, Gregory Baylor in 1989; one sister, Ella Mae McKendrick; and two brothers, Clyde Mitter and Erine Mitter.

A private Funeral Service will be held at Bolyard Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Friday, May 1 with the Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. We will be webcasting the funeral on her memorial page on the funeral home website. If for some reason the webcast drops we will finish recording and reload once completed to watch.

Private Interment will be on Saturday at Shay’s Chapel Cemetery.
