Ricky Hood

Minister Ricky Neal Hood, a life-long member of Friendship Baptist Church and resident, of Everettville, W.Va., passed away on April 10, 2020.

Ricky was born June 29, 1957, the fourth of eight children of the late Wallace Eugene Hood, Sr. and Ora Mae Hood.

Ricky was well known for his smile and his love for serving the Lord and his church. His life was a living testimony of God’s grace and mercies. A survivor of a traumatic brain injury, Ricky spent the past 40 years ministering and testifying about his miraculous recovery and the rebuilding of his life. He became an Ordained Minister in October of 2005.

Ricky is survived by his brothers, Wally Hood (Becky), of Morgantown, Donnie Hood, of Toledo, Ohio, and Aundra Hood (Cassandra), of Everettville, one sister, Kimberly Hood-Berry, of Washington, D.C. and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvis Percy, Calvin Carl and Robin Glen.

Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, there will be no public visitation, and a private graveside committal service for his family will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairmont.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Ricky’s honor to any Christian charity.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral & Cremation Care of Westover/ Morgantown.
