Virgil Jackson Metz, 44, of Grafton, died Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Mon Health Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 18, 1975, in Morgantown, a son of Johnnie Metz, of Tunnelton, and Mary Ann Gamblin Metz, of Munford, Tenn.
Virgil was a steel worker and a coal miner. He loved to work on his Dodge truck and hunting season.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his companion, Missy Stanton, of Grafton; a son, Eli Jackson Metz; a daughter, Reagin Metz; a brother, Johnathan Metz, of Fairmont; two sisters, Rebecca Shaw and husband Sam, of Camden, Tenn., and Penny Metz, of Munford, Tenn.; nine nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews; an aunt and uncle; a great-aunt; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil and Geraldine Metz and Henry and Pauline Gamblin, two uncles and two cousins.
Private services will be conducted for the family.
