CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The Trinity Christian boys’ basketball team fell to Notre Dame in the Region II, Section 1 final Thursday by a score of 56-52.
Seth Goins led the Warriors (12-12) in scoring with 17 points. Jonathan Moore scored 12. Goins also made three 3-pointers in the contest.
Trinity managed to get off to a good start — outscoring Notre Dame 32-20 in the first half. The Warriors couldn’t finish what they started, though, Notre Dame managed to score 36 points in the second half to clinch the sectional title.
Things went wrong in the third quarter for Trinity, as the Warriors managed to score just six points, which allowed Notre Dame to get back into the game.
Trinity will play again at 7 p.m. Wednesday against the winner of the Pendleton County and Moorefield game in the regional final.
