MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Trinity Christian advances to the Region 2, Section 1 semifinals with its swamping 79-37 win over South Harrison on Saturday.
The third-seeded Warriors (11-11) were paced by four players in double figures, all led by Seth Goins with 24. Fletcher Hartsock (15), Carter Anderson (13) and Noah Kurilko (10) added 38 more in the big win. Freshman Drew Boczek, who had just four points, was also a major contributor registering 11 steals.
Trinity jumped ahead early, taking a 20-4 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Hawks (7-15) fought back within range of the Warriors before halftime, outscoring the Warriors, 18-11.
After the break, Trinity responded with force putting up 48 points in the remaining 16 minutes while holding South Harrison to just 15.
No player on the Hawks’ roster found double digits, as Austin Hunt and Logan Lankford each had eight points in the loss.
Trinity next faces No. 2 seed Clay-Battelle in Blacksville on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Cee-Bees defeated No. 7 seed Doddridge County 84-61 to advance.
