Mike Saturday Jr.

Mike Saturday Jr., 93, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020, peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side.

The son of the late Mike and Agnes Saturday, he was born June 1, 1926, in Morgantown.

Mike was a United States Army veteran and honorably served his country during the Korean War. He was a retired coal miner and worked at Osage #3 as a mainline motorman. Mike enjoyed his retirement and, most of all, spending time with his family.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth Saturday; his children: Cynthia Saturday and her companion, Mark, Michael Saturday and his wife, Fayann, and Susan Umble and her husband, Kenneth; grandchildren: Jessica Fratz, Michael Saturday, Stephanie Bartlett, Grant Umble and Scott Umble; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Lipko and Rose Hamrick; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Saturday; and three sisters: Ann Komenus, Agnes Barto and Virginia Leach.

Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, from
2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and again from 10 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Junius Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
