BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — K.J. McClurg and Kaden Metheny combined for 44 points in the University High’s boys’ basketball team’s win over Buckhannon-Upshur, 76-58, on Monday.
McClurg scored 24 points and also recorded seven steals for the Hawks (18-3). Kaden Metheny scored 20 points, and Aaron Forbes added 11 and tallied 10 rebounds.
University went into halftime with just a five-point lead, but managed to pull away in the third quarter — outscoring Buckhannon-Upshur 27-13.
The Hawks will play again at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Preston.
