MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The West Virginia tennis team earned its fourth sweep of the season Sunday afternoon, as the Mountaineers defeated Cornell, 4-0, at the Summit Tennis Academy, in Morgantown.
With the win, it marks West Virginia’s best start to a season since 1986, when WVU began the season 12-0.
“Obviously, it’s good to be back home, to compete at home in our own facility,” WVU coach Miha Lisac said. “It’s good to get a win and continue to build off where we were leading up to this weekend. The match definitely had its ups and downs for us. We had some very good performances starting from the beginning in doubles. We had some that we definitely have to improve upon as well.”
