Iretta Jean Hornick, 85, previously of Zelienople, Pa., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, at Waynesburg Health & Rehab Center. She was born on Nov. 4, 1934, in Morgantown.
She is the daughter of the late Page and Lourdine (Walker) Lewis. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bernard Hornick in November 2004. Her brother, David Lewis, and sister, Wilma Rye, also preceded her in death.
Iretta is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Rodgers; grandson, John Blakeley, who brought the biggest smile to her face; niece, Verna Helmick (husband, Bill) whom she made her home with at the onset of illness; and several other nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Nicholson Chapel Church on Summers School Road from noon Friday, Feb. 7, until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Minister Dan Ousley officiating. Interment will follow at the Nicholson Cemetery.
