Roseanne Kennedy

Roseanne Kennedy, 72, of Morgantown, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020, following a long, hard-fought battle with dementia.
She was born May 18, 1947, in Morgantown and was the oldest daughter of the late Lawrence Dale and Ella Claudine Stone.

Roseanne was a kind, giving person, who was quick-witted and a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She graduated from Morgantown High School in 1965 and soon after began working for the U.S. Federal Government as the secretary to the West Virginia State Conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS). Roseanne was consistently acknowledged and honored for her high-level job performance and invaluable devotion to the organization’s mission. After 47 years of service, she retired from the NRCS in May 2012.

Roseanne was known for her love of her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Dwight Kennedy. She is also survived by her only daughter, Shelly Cardi and her partner, Greg Golden, as well as her two beloved granddaughters, Juliana and Mia Cardi, who were the light of her life.

Other surviving family members include her sister, Emily Levendosky and her partner Scooter Goldman, and six nieces and nephews, Lisa Levendosky Fritsch, Larry Levendosky, Shaun Hern, Darren Hern, Cale Hern and Royce Hern. Also surviving is a large group of extended family and friends who loved her deeply.

She was preceded in death by not only her parents but also her baby brother, Lawrence David Stone.

Her interment and memorial service will occur at a later date, and the family will announce the details for her service in the near future.
